πŸš€ Feature Request: Secure Sharing of Notes with External Clinicians

Description:

There is a growing need among Rehab Guru users to collaborate with clinicians outside their immediate team, particularly when joint-working on patient cases. Users have highlighted platforms which enable secure, one-time access to individual SOAP notes through email links and SMS verification codes. This functionality supports GDPR-compliant collaboration while maintaining patient confidentiality and access control.

Current Behaviour:

Rehab Guru currently does not support secure sharing of individual treatment notes with external clinicians who are not part of a user’s team. There is no functionality to generate time-limited access links, nor is there an option for two-factor authentication (e.g. SMS code) for accessing shared content.

Proposed Solution:

We propose the development of a secure note sharing feature that allows Rehab Guru users to share individual treatment notes externally with controlled, auditable access. Key components would include:

  • Ability to generate a secure link to a single note or session.

  • SMS or email code verification to access the note.

  • Time-limited or one-time use access to maintain security.

  • Full audit trail of access events for compliance and transparency.

  • Optional consent-tracking tool to record patient approval for external sharing.

This functionality should align with GDPR and clinical best practices to ensure privacy and security.

Customer Benefit:

This feature would allow Rehab Guru users to collaborate securely and efficiently with external clinicians involved in shared patient care, without compromising data security or privacy. It supports multidisciplinary treatment, enhances communication, and mirrors workflows that users are already finding valuable in other platforms.
